The Balyg carpet woven in Shusha in the
17th century was also woven in carpet-making
centers located in Barda and its surroundings.
Small-sized rhombs located on a black-colored background and
white, red, and green flowers surrounding these rhombs are repeated
consistently in vertical and horizontal directions all along the central
field creating a severe fishnet-like composition. A middle stripe was
designed with rose branches and gives the carpet a living look. The
stripes interworked with light green and blue colors that surround the
border from both sides are concordant with colors in the middle and
create a color combination of good spirit and mood.
This carpet was woven using handmade threads colored with
natural dyes.
