The date 1339 AH appears inside the
green background medallion on the center
of the carpet, both on the right and left.
On the middle field of this sumac back-
ground carpet, three large octagonal gyols
(medallion) are placed. The gyol in the cen-
ter of the carpet has a dark green setting, but
the gyols at the top and bottom have a blue
background. A similar-shaped smaller hex-
agonal gyol occurs in the center of the green
background gyol; at the top and bottom, an
orange background rectangular element
appears. In the center of the hexagonal gyol
there is a medallion with zigzag edges de-
signed with orange and light brown rhom-
bic elements in the center; and inside the
rectangular elements a goshabuynuz (dou-
ble-horned) ornament is shown. There are
octagonal star, eight-petal flower and styl-
ized goat images in the empty spaces of the
large blue background gyol. The edges of
the gyol are completed with pink and light
green small square motifs on the right and
left, and with pink, green, blue, and light
blue incomplete lines at the top and bottom.
The same elements are repeated inside the
blue gyol in the upper part of the carpet.
These elements have a green and orange
background, but the brown eight-pointed
smaller gyol has a dark brown background.
The edges of the gyol are enclosed with
white and brown square and z-shaped mo-
tifs. The rectangular geometric elements
have a sumac-colored background, while
the goshabuynuz motifs are designed in
light green. The edges of the element at the
top are designed in green and orange. The
edges of the element at the bottom are de-
picted with brown and yellow slanted lines.
The octagonal smaller gyol inside the
blue background gyol in the lower part of
the middle field is surrounded with a su-
mac color. The ornaments inside are sur-
rounded with orange, dark green, light
brown, cream, and blue, but the edges are
encircled with yellow and sumac-colored
square and z-shaped elements. The geo-
metric element in the upper part of the gyol
is completed with a sumac background, the
goshabuynuz motif inside with light green,
and the edges of the geometric element with
light green and orange square elements. A
small octagonal gyol is placed in the low-
er part of the gyol. The geometric element
inside this small gyol is designed with an
orange background, a goshabuynuz motif
with dark green, square motifs on the edg-
es of the geometric element, and z-shaped
motifs, depicted with green and orange.
The main dark and light green background
border of the carpet is decorated with
stepped edged classic elements, jutbuynuz
(double-horned), and other motifs. There
are dordunsur (four elements) motifs in the
center of the elements with stepped edges.
The main border is surrounded with guard
stripes decorated with sumac and blue mol-
labashi (chamomile) on both sides. The bor-
ders are completed with square madakhils
designed with white and brown on both
sides.
