The date 1332 AH appears on the
left and right of the green gyol (me-
dallion) at the top of the carpet.
On the middle field of this cor-
nelian background carpet, a large
green gyol occurs. There are trian-
gular bulges on the edges of the
gyol. The bulges and other areas are
surrounded with blue, cornelian,
and red su (water). Three rhom-
bic medallions arranged one after
the other are depicted inside the
green gyol. The medallions are at-
tached to one other. There are rect-
angular ketebes with bulged edges
in the center of the medallions. In
the lower and upper areas of the
ketebes, horn motifs are depicted
in bulges on the right and left.
The medallions in the lower and
upper areas of the carpet are com-
pleted with t-shaped elements with
hooked edges. The edges of the
rhombic medallions are designed
with light blue and green su and
black zigzag elements.
The middle light blue background
border of the carpet is decorated
with wavy cornelian elements. The
empty spaces between the wavy
elements are filled with flower,
branch, and rhombic elements.
The middle border is surround-
ed with blue and cornelian back-
ground borders. The flower and
branch motifs on the blue back-
ground border are depicted in cor-
nelian with similar motifs on the
cornelian border designed in light
blue. White and cornelian incom-
plete lines finish the borders on
both sides. The edges of the middle
field are surrounded with light blue
and navy blue zigzags. The edges
of the zigzags are completed with
black su.
In addition to holding the traits
specific to the Gazakh Group, the
carpet in itself reflects the traditions
characteristic of the Kavar district.
