The date 1336 AH appears at the
top part of the central gyol (medal-
lion) in the middle field of the carpet.
This carpet was woven on the basis of
Gazakh’s “Demirciler” composition.
A large gyol occurs on the navy blue
background middle field. Three navy
blue medallions are placed inside the
gyol. There are light red background
geometric elements inside the me-
dallions. White rectangular elements
are depicted in the center of the light
red background geometric elements.
Cornelian goshabuynuz (double-
horned) motifs are depicted in the
center of the rectangular elements.
On the edges of the white back-
ground elements, t-shaped motifs
lead right, left, up and down. On the
edges of the medallion, there are blue
background classic, zigzag, hooked,
and other motifs depicted in orange,
cornelian, white, brown, and rasp-
berry colors. The edges of the gyols
are represented with light brown su
(water) on the outside and red and
white sichandishi (mouse teeth) on
the inside.
The wide cornelian background
border of the carpet is designed with
white wavy lines. The wavy lines
have bulges. The empty spaces be-
tween the wavy lines are decorated
with flowers depicted in pink, blue,
white, yellow, orange, brown, navy
blue, light red, and light green.
The middle field is surrounded
with narrow orange background bor-
ders on the inside and narrow blue
background borders on the outside.
Small pink, blue, cornelian, white,
light brown, navy blue, and rasp-
berry-colored four-petal flowers are
depicted on the narrow orange back-
ground borders. The same motifs are
repeated on the blue background
borders in pink, orange, white, cor-
nelian, brown, and raspberry colors.
The edges of the blue background
border are completed with pink su.
The borders are enclosed with si-
chandishi represented in white and
red.
The empty spaces of the carpet’s
middle field are filled with elements
specific to Gazakh carpets. These ele-
ments are depicted in cream, red, cor-
nelian blue, light blue, orange, and
light blue colors.
The color design of the carpet shows
great professionalism. The coordina-
tion of different color shades has pro-
duced a special harmony.
