The date 1206 AH appears on the
carpet.
The carpet’s artistic structure con-
tains a middle field divided into verti-
cal links and a border. The links are de-
signed with white, brick red, and navy
blue. A watermelon color is used for a
small part. Small tree motifs decorate
the links. The tree motifs have small
branches leaning to the right and left, as
well as a flower. The trees on the white
background links are navy blue, but on
the links with red and navy blue back-
grounds they are white, navy blue, and
red. The flowers and leaves on the navy
blue and red foundations are arrayed in
red, yellow, brown, white, navy blue,
and cornelian. The flowers and leaves
on the blue and green backgrounds al-
ternate with the same colors, creating a
rhythmic vision.
The main border of the white-back-
ground carpet is patterned with hooked
motifs. These motifs employ dark red,
green, yellow, and navy blue. There are
rhombic elements in the center of the
hooked motifs. The empty parts of the
border are filled with small classic tri-
angular and square shapes with notice-
able stepped edges. These elements are
composed of navy blue, dark red, dark
green, and brown.
Octagonal stars are depicted on the
narrower border of the navy blue back-
ground carpet. Star motifs are outlined
in yellow, dark red, watermelon, dark
and light brown, orange, and blue. The
borders are surrounded with madakh-
ils adorned with white z-shaped motifs.
The edges of the madakhils are comple-
mented by brown su (water) on the out-
side and navy blue su on the inside.
