Inside the elongated ketebe, joined to the in-
ner border and second from the right the fol-
lowing text appears: “Parvin and Parviz were
stupefied when seeing each other and this
shows their pure, deep, and faithful love.”
On the lower part of the
third writing from the top,
reading right to left, the fol-
lowing text appears: “Every
time you see this picture,
your second glance will
see more beauty than the
first. To be honest, I have
seen many fine faces during
these nights.” (It means that
this carpet is so beautiful
that its beauty can be seen
even in the dark.)
The colors typical for Tabriz carpets were designed very professionally in this carpet and the traditional color arrangement
and balance were followed and the description of colors was fulfilled with regularity.
It is in excellent condition. The carpet’s pile is woolen and its wrap and weft are made of cotton.
On top of the main dark blue back-
ground border on the left, there are
depictions of natural views, mountains,
meadows, and a shepherd with his flock.
Inside the medallion on the upper right
corner, there is a miniature love scene.
In the left lower area, two talking hu-
man figures are depicted and in the right
corner a girl sitting on the riverbank and
a gazelle drinking water are depicted.
The backgrounds of the minor borders are the same as the backgrounds of the middle field. There are animal and bird
images on the minor border encircling the middle field. The dragon image depicted on the border draws attention.
In Azerbaijani decorative applied-art, the dragon motif is stylized and depicted as a real form. The gaps among the drag-
on motifs on the border are filled with flower motifs. On the minor border enclosing the main border there are depictions
of vegetal elements.
