Yusif’s face resembled full
moon.
As if Prophet Yusuf is the sun of
Kanan’s territory. Caravan came
and stopped over the well to drink
water. When they took water from
the well they saw that there was a
boy in the well.
When they looked at the well they
saw light there and thought that it
was the reflection of moon in the
water.
After pulling Yusuf out of the well, as if
they got all the wealth of the world.
They became happy to become rich by
pulling him out of the well. They sold Yusuf
and got gold for his weight
In the next kataba, the name of
the person who made the cheshni
(model) of the carpet has been writ-
ten: “The description of this carpet
was drawn by Mirza Ali Kashani”.
Why the brother betrayed his brother in
such manner? Even the sun and the moon
can’t believe such betrayal.
Yusif’s brothers did not get any-
thing by throwing him into the
well. Since, Yusuf was honest man
and his purpose was bowing to
Allah. Therefore, Allah saved him
from all bad things.
The descriptions of hunter and different animals in the major border surrounded the central field of the carpet creates
the sense of living unity. The major border has been decorated with plant ornaments. The minor borders finish in serrated
madakhils.
Wrap and weft of the carpet is Egypt cotton, but its pile is wool. The yarns used while weaving was hand-spun and dyed
by natural paints. The carpet has tints of fourteen colours. The carpet assumes great historical, artistic, scientific importance.
The carpet kept in good condition was not subjected to the repair. The carpet was woven by Shiraza-dolama technique. Its
weir is one line, ear coloured and fringe is 1 sm, density is 70x60.
