“Sarab” carpet is from Sarab city; it differs in the number of
ornaments. Pattern field of such carpets is formed mainly on
the basis of two different compositions. The first having more
stretching form are the carpets where vertical lines dominate in
the middle part. Artistic features making the composition beau-
tiful are precisely are aesthetic value endowed by asymmetric
order of stripes-lines generated from flowering branches. These
stripes join with each other not with straight lines called “su”
(water), but zigzag line called “nail.” Other versions of “Sarab”
carpets are characterized with a lake located in the middle of
field. Nabat patterns of various sizes surrounding symmetrical-
ly the lake provide its sides. Such pattern cover realizing in the
bright field is seen harmonic as per its colors, and attractive as
per its common artistic description.
It is from the city of “Zanjan” carpet. Both central part and
margin stripe of the composition reminding “Daryanur” cheshni
consist of curve line nabat ornaments. The lakes having common
silhouette and a little geometrical shape are seen attractive in the
plain field of middle part.
Cheshni created in Mir and Mirish settlements located in the
southern part of Ardabil entered the Azerbaijani carpet weaving
under the name “Mir.” The Composition of the carpet’s central
part consists of buta. Their order along the field reminds “Khila-
buta” and “Maraza” carpets of Guba-Shirvan regions, as well as
artistic features having common with tirma. The factor changing
it to effective expression is opposite order of buta being put in a
row and endowing smooth rhythm to general composition. Both
the edge and central part of “Mir” carpet are very attractive as
per its artistic solution. Gradual replacing of nabat motives of
edge margins with new forms can be considered as sustainable
researching of local masters.
In contrast to some weaving specimens the name of “Achma-
yumma” (opening-closing) carpet is acquired due to its peculiar
composition. This cheshni which creation date dates back ancient
times and spreading widely in the Azerbaijani history reminds
of fish-net due to general appearance of its patterns and is called
“Bendi-rumi” in this territory. The essence of such composition’s
cut makes ornament. The pleasant pattern field of cheshni is cre-
