were used to get such colors. There were enough raw ma-
terials in the fields of Tabriz and adjoining settlements
to become dye materials. Animal origin substances were
also used in preparation of colors. The masters some-
times used buttermilk as tanning means and got brighter
and more transparent woolen threads. For enriching the
tinge of colored threads, natural salts and mineral water
sources were used as well. In the 19
th
century dye produc-
tion had already independent importance. Tabriz group
of carpets, which had achieved high level of mastery and
perfection exerted a special influence on development of
carpet weaving both in Azerbaijan and in neighbor coun-
tries. It is not accidental that Tabriz sign clearly manifests
in carpet weaving art of other regions of Azerbaijan, as
well as in Central Asia, Iran, Turkey, India and other re-
gions and countries.
The Tabriz group of Azerbaijani carpets lives today as
an integral part of Azerbaijani carpet tradition, continu-
ing the historical traditions and increasing their fame
with new artistic features.
