The date 1312 AH appears inside
the medallion at the top of the carpet.
The main decoration of this dark red
field carpet consists of four large gyols
(medallion). The edges of the gyols
are designed with white and red si-
chandishi (mouse teeth) on the inside
and navy blue hooks on the outside.
Dordbuynuz (four-horned) motifs
are located inside the gyols. There are
dark red and brown rhombic motifs
in the center of the medallions at the
top and bottom of the carpet. These
motifs are divided into four parts us-
ing su (water). There are stylized mo-
tifs similar to camel figures at the top
of the gyol in the center. These figures
are depicted using white and green. A
white background border surrounds
the middle field of the carpet. Green,
red, navy blue, blue, light blue, dark
red, dark brown, and brick-colored
motifs with zigzag edges decorate the
inside of the border. Elements with
stepped edges are placed inside these
motifs. The empty spaces of the border
are represented with mashal (torch)
and shamdan (candlestick) motifs. The
wide dark brown border of the carpet
is adorned with hooked motifs. These
motifs are designed in light blue, navy
blue, white, and brown. Arrow-like
elements are clearly noticeable inside
the motifs. Blue background madakh-
ils designed with red wavy lines on the
inside enclose the border on both sides.
The outside madakhil is designed with
white and red, while the internal ma-
dakhil is represented with green and
red sichandishi on the right. The white
arrow-like motifs pointing below the
inside wide border are designed with
the colors of the motifs on the middle
field, providing a general beauty to the
carpet with complementary color ar-
rangements. The edges of these motifs
are completed with brown su.
