The date 1310 AH appears at the bot-
tom of the carpet’s middle field on the
right. This carpet was woven on the ba-
sis of Gazakh’s “Demirciler” composi-
tion. Two largemedallions with a green
and light blue background are placed
in the middle field of this carpet’s red
background. A rectangular medallion
is located on the red background in the
center of the gyol (medallion) with a
light blue background. The same shape
of medallion is repeated on the white
background inside the green gyol. Jut-
buynuz (double-horned) motifs are de-
signed in the center of the medallions.
These motifs are depicted in green on
the red background and in red on the
white background. The edges of the
rectangular medallions are completed
with goshabuynuz (double-horned)
motifs on the right and left and with
red incomplete hooked medallions at
the top and bottom. In the middle field
of the carpet there are eight rectangu-
lar medallions represented in green,
light blue, and red in the middle field
of the carpet. Goshabuynuz and oc-
tagonal stars are depicted inside these
medallions, while triangular elements
divided into four parts are designed
on some medallions. The empty spaces
of the middle field are filled with s-
shaped, hooked, star, horn, and other
motifs. The white background border
of the carpet is decorated with clas-
sic and incomplete rhomboid medal-
lions with stepped edges adorned in
green, blue, red, brick, yellow, light
blue, navy blue, and brown. The bor-
der is surrounded with light blue-red
and green-red hooked motif borders
on both sides. The edges of the bor-
ders are finished with yellow-red and
white-red incomplete lines. The color
harmony on the carpet is designed
with traditional concord and exempli-
fies a high professionalism. As a result
of the harmonization of the different
color shades, a rich and attractive color
palette has been produced.
