The date 1311 AH appears inside
the white medallion in the center of
the carpet’s middle field.
In the middle field of this dark
red background carpet, navy blue,
brown, light blue, and green clas-
sic elements reminiscent of a flower
vase are depicted. The arms of these
elements that tend right and left are
suggestive of sunbul (spike). Rect-
angular elements designed with t-
shaped motifs on the inside fill the
empty spaces between these classic
elements. The rectangular elements
are designed with white and navy
blue and the motifs inside are depict-
ed in brown and yellow.
On the main white background bor-
der of the carpet, triangular elements
are depicted face-to-face. There are
horn-like bulges at the top of these
motifs. Small barely visible rhom-
bic elements are placed inside the
triangular motifs. These motifs are
called gozgaytariji (evil-eye-catcher)
motifs. The triangular elements are
designed with navy blue, green, red,
and light blue colors. Madakhils de-
signed with zigzags surround the
main border on both sides. The ma-
dakhils are represented in green and
navy blue on the outside of the main
border and in navy blue on the in-
side. The narrow borders of the car-
pet are decorated with small slanted
stripes. These stripes are represented
in yellow-red, blue-red, light blue-
red, white and dark green.
The borders are surrounded with
madakhils decorated with navy blue,
light blue, and red hooks. The nar-
row border at the top part of the car-
pet is designed with light green and
dark red zigzags on the inside, with
dark red and light blue at the bottom,
and with barely visible navy blue in
some areas. The carpet draws atten-
tion with its unique pattern and color
design.
