1958 discovered valuable
material cultural. More
than 8000 archaeological
materials were obtained
from the mixed stratum
of the cave, including
sharp stone tools, bones
of different animals, and
traces of ash. Natural
red pigments were also
found during these
excavations. Many items
and remnants have
been obtained from
the two-meter wide
fireplace. Stone products
of the Middle Stone Age, Upper Paleolithic,
Mesolithic, and Neolithic Age, used for
manufacturing were also found.
One of the most significant historical areas
of the world, “Baba–Darvish,” located in the
Gazakh district, is an ancient settlement. It
is located near the village of “Khanliglar.”
Archaeological digs took place here during
1958-62 and in 1966, and led to very interesting
finds from different historical periods.
The “Baba Dervish” settlement consists of a
range of five hills. According to archaeological
discoveries, it existed of the beginning of
the third millenium B.C. and its inhabitants
manufactured a number of objects and tools.
Bones of men, goat, oxen, and other animals, as
well as wheels made from clay from this period,
are of particular interest.
