The date 1279 AH appears in the center of the carpet’s middle field.
The middle field of the carpet is divided into navy blue, red, cream, and brown schemes. On the cream-colored schemes, elements cal-
led surme are used. Surme elements are encountered on mafrashs (catchall) that were employed in the daily life of Terekemes who led
a nomadic life. These elements can be observed in the carpet products (khurjuns, heybes, and mafrashs) belonging to the Baku Group.
There are dordunsur (four elements) in the center of the surme elements and at the top and bottom there are yellow and red flower ima-
ges. The empty spaces in the middle field of the cream-colored background schemes are designed with t-shaped or ersin-like motifs. The
large motifs with edges designed using ichigiynag elements are decorated with navy blue, brown, and red background schemes. There
are zigzag-edged and twelve-pointed elements inside these motifs. In the center of these motifs, small eight-pointed geometric elements
