In the middle field of this navy blue
field carpet, there are five whole medal-
lions arranged vertically one after the
other and five incomplete medallions
attached to the border walls. A white
medallion is placed inside the red back-
ground medallions; a red medallion is
placed inside the blue and white back-
ground medallion; and a smaller yellow
medallion is placed inside the navy blue
medallion. There are four rhomboid el-
ements in the center of the medallions.
Inside the incomplete medallions, bare-
ly-visible dordunsur (four elements)
motifs are depicted.
A yellow background border filled
with four-petal flowers surrounds the
middle field of the carpet. Brick red,
dark red, light blue, blue, navy blue,
pink, brown, and black colors are em-
ployed to adorn the flowers. The border
is surrounded with madakhils designed
using white and onion-colored s-shaped
motifs on the inside and light blue and
pink z-shapedmotifs on the outside. The
madakhils are completed with black su
(water).
The main cream-colored background
border of the carpet is designed with
classic elements specific to Gazakh car-
pets. These elements are decorated with
brick red, blue, green, light and dark
brown, light blue, navy blue, yellow,
white, and black. The main border is
surrounded with guard stripes designed
using green and half-red-half-onion-col-
ored mollabashi (chamomile) on the in-
side, and half-light blue-half-navy blue
and dark brown mollabashi on the out-
side. The edges of the mollabashi mo-
tifs are designed at the top with white
chichak (flower) and along the bottom
with pink su. The borders are completed
with madakhils designed in yellow and
onion-colored z-shaped elements. The
edges of the madakhils are decorated
with black su. The carpet has a complex
compositional structure and harmonic
color arrangement.
