This type of carpet can be found in the Ganja region of Azerbaijan.
A four-angled medallion is placed in the center field of this
carpet on a red background. The edges of this medallion have stripes
consisting of two rows. The internal part of the first-in-row stripe is
decorated with hook-shaped elements. The stripe has a Latin letter
c-shaped white-, yellow-, and black-colored element, while a Latin
letter t-shaped ornament is placed inside the outside border of the
medallion. Its edges are designed with white-colored hook-like
elements.
Four elements are seen in the center of the
medallion combined with indented leaves in the
field. The edges of the medallion have classic
elements specific to the carpets of Karabakh.
Mehrab-shaped images woven on the top and bottom ends of the
field complete the general composition of the carpet. The change of
colors on a white background of the star-shaped elements in the border
creates a particular magnetism. The guard stripes on the internal and
external sides of the main border are decorated with cotton boll-like
elements.
The carpet was woven using handmade threads of high quality,
colored with natural dyes.
