Three large sized gyols (medallions) are woven in the field of
this carpet on a dark red background. Rectangular elements called
charhovuz (basin) by carpet makers are placed inside the gyols. Two
ducks looking at each other are depicted inside the charhovuz.
Since ancient times, the duck has been used as a decorative element
in various types of applied art in the East. The rectangular elements are
surrounded by eight dragons or snake-like elements. These elements
look like clouds.
The field of the carpet is decorated with s-shaped and other filler
elements of different sizes. The large white-background border of this
carpet contains classic elements specific to the carpets of Karabakh.
The guard stripes are decorated with triangular geometric elements.
Both sides of the guard stripes are surrounded by elements called
sichandishi. As a result of the delicate arrangement of colors on this
carpet, a particular color harmony is created.
The carpet was woven using handmade threads
of high quality, colored with natural dyes.
