The field of this carpet with a red background is decorated with
one brown and two black horses woven successively in the upper row.
The Karabakh region of Azerbaijan was famous for its horses since
ancient times. This image is reflected in various pieces of art, including
carpets.
The second row in the field of the carpet features dog images. This
motif also has meaningful content because the dog is depicted as a
trustworthy friend of humans in many pieces of art.
The vacant parts of the field of the carpet are
filled with stylized human figures as well as birds
and other animals.
The border of the carpet with a red background is decorated with
flowers and leaves while the guard stripes are filled with small light-
colored elements. Both guard stripes are surrounded by elements
called sichandishi.
The carpet was woven using handmade threads of high quality,
colored with natural dyes.
