The date 1292 AH appears inside the dark brown rhomboid elements in the center of the upper section of the carpet’s middle field.
This carpet, woven on the basis of a Karabakh composition is distinguished in its originality. Small rhomboid gyols (medallion) with
stepped edges, decorated using dark brown, red, green, and light blue colors, represent the decoration of the middle field of this white
background carpet. Different classic elements are depicted inside the gyols. These elements are encountered on “Silahli” carpets of
Gazakh. The border of the carpet is clearly noticeable, designed using blue on the left and light blue on the right. White, red, dark and
light brown, orange, green, dark and light red, navy blue, and watermelon-colored classic elements are depicted on the border. Among
weavers, these elements are called shamdan (candlestick). These elements are frequently encountered on Tabriz kilims and Indian pile-
weave carpets. The shamdan motifs are surrounded with large elements with zigzag and bulged edges. On the right and left of the
carpet’s middle field, green, blue, red, orange, brown, and light blue bulged motifs pointing towards the border walls are reminiscent
