Kilim. Wool. Flat-weave. Iravan group. Sardarabad, western Azerbaijan. 367x131. 1297 AH/1876 CE.

At the bottom part of the carpet, inside the white background central scheme, the date 1297 AH appears. Triangular motifs designed
in red, sumac, blue, dark and light brown are depicted on the white background scheme. There are classic elements specific to kilims
called kilimgulu (kilim flower) inside these motifs. A pair of birds standing face-to-face inside triangular motifs in the lower and upper
rows attracts attention with their originality. Bird heads turned backwards in the lower part of the triangular motifs attain the triangular
shape. The empty spaces of the scheme are designed with s-shaped motifs. The same motifs inside the brown and dark red schemes are
designed with white, blue, dark red, pink, and light blue. The middle field of the carpet is surrounded with a narrow white background
border, designed with damga (stamp) elements. The damga elements are decorated with dark and light red, brown, blue and navy
blue. The wide navy blue background border of the carpet is adorned with hexagonal elements designed with pink, dark and light red,
