Six trees are depicted on the red background carpet in white, green, blue, yellow,
and garnet. The top central trees are arrayed in a “sanctuary” motif. On the border,
there are cornelian, yellow, and white diamond-shaped motifs. On a blue backgro-
und between the diamond-shaped elements of yellow flowers, a "mehrab" (shrine)
motif depicts sixteen-petal flowers of blue, white, and green.
Within the central area of the carpet are elements called "gyynag" or
“heyvan bashi" (animal head). "
The main border of the carpet has a yellow background decorated with sixteen-pe-
tal flowers. Diamond-shaped motifs fill the outside of the main elements. The main
border is surrounded with diamond-shaped motifs and minor borders. The white
edges of the minor borders contain "sichandishi" (mouse teeth) motifs. "Heyvan bas-
hi" or "gyynag" motifs are depicted with white, yellow, blue, and cornelian flowers.
The carpet’s rich color design uses ten colors. This color palette is both traditional
and pleasing.
The pile and weft of the carpet are made of wool and the warp is made of cotton.
The storage condition of the carpet was excellent. The carpet is of artistic, historic,
and scientific importance.
