The artistic composition of the carpet consists of a central field and border section.
The basic ornament of the dark blue background central field consists of three large
“gyol” (medallion) placed vertically. The “gyol” have a rhombus shape. The selva-
ges (self-finished edges) of the “gyol” are covered by scallops. There are “gubba”
motifs of laurel-like background in the upper and lower part of the gap. The selva-
ges of the “gubba” motifs are scalloped. The selvages of the scallops are trimmed
with white “su” (water). Square-shaped medallions have been depicted to the right
and left of the “gubba.”
The gaps of the carpet’s central field are filled by various shaped
and sized geometric, hook-like, lozenge, four-, six-, and eight-petal
flowers, and other motifs.
The major border of the yellow background carpet is decorated with red, sumac,
dark blue, blue, sugar-colored, yellow, and green spiral elements. The selvages of
the major border are supplemented with “sichandishi” (mouse teeth).
The major border is surrounded by minor borders trimmed on the inside with la-
urel-colored and four-petal blue flowers. The color of the motifs in the major border
is repeated in the motifs of the minor border.
The internal minor border is supplemented by white scallops on the inside and
the external lower border is supplemented by yellow “sichandishi” on the outside.
The carpet is multi-colored.
The pile and wrap is made of wool, but the weft of the carpet is made from cotton.
The storage condition of the carpet is adequate. The carpet is of artistic, historic, and
scientific importance.
