Four large gyols are placed in the central field of carpet the dark blue background.
There are relatively small medallions with hook-like selvages (self-finished edges)
within the “gyols” (medallions). Four-petal flowers are patterned in the center of the
medallions. The flowers have been patterned inside the lozenge elements.
There are quadrangular medallions in the gaps between the “gyols” and in the
upper and lower selvages of the carpet’s central field. There are stylized elements
reminiscent of a bird standing face-to-face inside these medallions.
Different-sized geometric, lozenge, “dord unsur” (four element), hook-like, four-, six-
, and eight-petal flowers, and stylized animal and bird images have been depicted
in the gaps of the carpet’s central field. The carpet’s central field is surrounded by
“medakhil” patterns with s-shaped motifs inside.
The major border of the carpet is decorated by arrow-shaped motifs trimmed with
laurel-like white, dark-blue, blue, light and dark brown, and yellow colors. The ex-
ternal minor border of laurel-like and dark-blue background surrounding the major
border is decorated with flower motifs.
The dark blue background selvage border is encircled by “medak-
hil” trimmed with s-shaped chain arrangements on the outside.
The red background minor border has been encircled by “medakhil,” trimmed
with yellow and white flowers on the inside. The selvages of this blue background
“medakhil” are supplemented with yellow “su” (water). The carpet has rich colors.
The pile and wrap is made of wool, but the weft of the carpet is made from cotton.
The storage condition of the carpet is adequate. The carpet is of artistic, historic, and
scientific importance.
