Medallions are depicted in the center of this carpet. This type of medallion carpet
is found in various regions of Azerbaijan with connected elements of cornelian and
blue.
The upper and lower parts of the center section contain yellow borders showing
branches of red and white.
In the vastness of the center section, stylized animals, birds, small diamond-sha-
ped elements, and vegetative motifs are depicted.
The primary border of the white background carpet contains "zulfelem” motifs,
common to carpets of the Guba Group. The "zulfelem" motifs are depicted in corne-
lian, blue, dark green, light red, blue, green, and light brown. The primary border
surrounds a set of four minor borders.
The colors of the primary border and the center section are repeated in the minor
borders, through small "sichandishi" (mouse teeth) motifs.
The carpet’s rich color design uses ten colors. This color palette
is both traditional and pleasing.
The pile and weft of the carpet are made of wool and the warp is made of cotton.
The storage condition of the carpet was excellent. The carpet is of artistic, historic,
and scientific importance.
