The carpet has a rich ornament design.
The date 1306 appears in the upper section
of the carpet’s central field.
There are two large oval medallions in the
black central field of the carpet. The medal-
lion in the upper part of the central field is
black and the one in the lower part is light
red. There are stylized bird and animal de-
pictions inside the medallions.
The edges of the medallions in the upper
section are surrounded with a light green
border and those in the lower part are sur-
rounded with a dark brown border. There
are “gaychibalig,” four-petal flower, and
branch depictions trimmed with red, dark
blue, grey, pink, and brown on a light green
background. The border at the edges of the
medallion in the upper section finishes in
pink “su” (water) on the inside and black
and light green “su” on the outside.
The upper and lower sections of the me-
dallions are trimmed with light green, pink,
and white. There are hook-like elements ar-
ranged face-to-face in the upper and lower
sections of the medallion. The upper and
lower parts of the medallions are serrated on
the right and left.
The “gaychibalig” and branches on the
dark brown border on the edges of the
medallions in the lower section have been
trimmed with light green, red, black, white,
and brown and the hooked motifs in the up-
per and lower sections have been trimmed
with blue, pink, and light green.
The blank spaces of the carpet’s central
field are filled with plant, hooked, and hex-
agonal elements in various types and forms.
There are small octagonal medallions in
the upper and lower sections of the central
field. There are hooked projections directed
to the left and right in the upper corners of
the medallions found in the upper section
and hooked projections arranged face-to-
face in the upper corners of the medallions
in the lower section.
The central border with light green background is trimmed
with wavy lines.
The wavy lines are combined with small rhomboidal elements.
There are “buynuz”-like (horn) motifs among the waves. These
motifs are trimmed with bright red, white, and black. The central
field is surrounded with serrated madakhil on both sides. The
madakhil are trimmed with light red, blue, bright red, and black
on the inside andwith pink, red, and bright colors on the outside.
The color design of the carpet has been arranged with high
professionalism and traditional regularity.
The pile and warp of the carpet is wool and the weft is cotton.
The condition of the carpet is complete. The carpet is of artistic,
historical, and scientific importance.
