There are 40 stylized camel figures in the central
field of this brick red shedde. Eight “sarban” (ca-
meleer) stand in front of the camel caravans who
are arranged in four lines.
The camels have one hump and every camel has
cover called a “deve chulu.” The weaver has cre-
ated a special harmony by changing the color of
the camel chuls in alternating order. The camels
are trimmed with dark brown, light brick red,
light green, dark red, ivory, dark blue, and blue.
The same colors are repeated in the clothes of the
“sarban.”
The camel covers are trimmed with four-petal
flowers.
The blank spaces of the central field of the car-
pet are filled with four-petal flowers, damgha,
stylized duck, dog, bird (some weavers call it
partridge), and s-shaped elements.
The dark brick red border of the carpet has
been adorned with light brick red, bright red,
dark brown, dark blue, light green, blue, yellow,
and ivory rhomboidal elements. The edges of the
rhomboidal elements are surrounded with white
barely visible stepped elements.
The border is surrounded with chains trimmed
in blue, white-brick red, green, brown, and blue
broken lines on the left and right.
The carpet has a rich color design.
The color balance has been preserved in this
carpet with high professionalism and traditional
regularity.
The colors that are characteristic for Nakhchi-
van shedde have been used in this carpet as well.
The carpet is woven from wool. The condition
of the carpet is complete and is of artistic, histori-
cal, and scientific importance.
