The carpet has a central field and a rich
border structure.
A large white hexagonal gol appears in
the red central field. Different-sized flow-
ers and leaf motifs appear inside the gol.
These motifs are combined with crossed
lines. The crossed lines are in the form of
a net. The flower and foliage motifs are
trimmed with dark blue, bright red, blue,
and yellow. The edges of the nets are out-
lined with small barely visible square mo-
tifs. The edges of the gol are surrounded
internally with red projections and ex-
ternally with dark brown projections.
The edges of the red projections finish in
barely visible light brown and the edges
of the dark brown projections finish in
white “su” (water). The branches reach
from the upper and lower edges of the
gol. There are six- and eight-petal flow-
ers on the branches with white “gubba”
(dome) at their ends. The plant motifs are
depicted inside the “gubba.” The inside of
the branches and edges of the “gubba” are
trimmed with sloping edged squares.
The rest of the carpet is filled with plant
elements. There is a white-yellow-red
projecting element that fills the rest of the
central field on the right and left of the gol
and white-red rhomboidal elements with
upper and lower projecting parts on the
left.
The upper and lower edges of the central
field are represented with stripes trimmed
with tirma-like elements from the up-
per and lower edges of the central field.
The stripes are yellow, dark blue, white,
and red. The edges of yellow stripes are
trimmed with dark blue projections. The
projections on the right and left are com-
bined with each other in the lower section
of the central field of the carpet.
The central border of the carpet has been decorated with stripes
trimmed like tirma. The elements, characteristic for Nakhchivan car-
pets, are depicted in red and white stripes represented in a sloping di-
rection.
The major border is surrounded with dark and light green minor bor-
ders. The edges of the major border finish in yellow “su” on both sides.
The edges of the minor borders finish in white “sichandishi” (mouse
teeth).
The color design of the carpet has been arranged with traditional reg-
ularity that is characteristic for Nakhchivan carpets. The color balance
is depicted with special professionalism.
The pile and warp of the carpet is wool and the weft is cotton. The
carpet is of artistic, historical, and scientific importance. The condition
of the carpet is complete.
